Our monthly Featured Artist program will be suspended until warmer months - but there are still opportunities to see the work of our very talented artists in venues other than in our own wonderful gallery in Kimberling City. For expample, starting on Saturday, January 7th, artwork created by Ginny Campbell, Joanne Kenney and Helen Long will be on display in Springfield at Maschino's - located on Campbell, just north of the Bass Pro store!

The 2012 Children's Show will open on March 24th this year. As is our tradition, all of the art in our Kimberling City Gallery will be removed and replaced with art created by children in Stone and Taney Counties. This year, chairman Susan Sketers is pulling together all of the volunteers to ensure all the work that needs to be done in preparation for this wonderful show is completed on a timely basis.

GRAND OPENING OF
ART GALLERY in SHELL KNOB
A GREAT SUCCESS
A group called Creative Arts of Shell Knob - or CASK - has established an organization that will provide an outlet for the many talented individuals that live in the area. CASK has established a gallery and meeting site in the basement of Jim's Satellite - owned by Hazel Floyd. Their goal is to provide a gallery for showing and selling artwork and a place for meetings and workshops. Although a relatively new organization, they already have 30 members - and growing. Their officers are President Jo Daniels, Vice Presidents, Eunice Blazek and Liz Hendrix, Secretary Marcia Nicholls and Treasurer, Skippy Knapik. CASK has included the fine arts of music, writing and the visual arts in their core of interest for the public. The organization is open to anyone in the community that shows interest in art, visual, music or writing. One doesn't have to have talent...just appreciation.
The organization is set to meet on the 1st Thursday of each month, at 6:30 pm. Contact Jo Daniels at 858.0423 or Marcia Nicholls at 858.0333 if you are interested in joining or supporting CASK.

The Grand Opening, held on Saturday, November 5th, was an overwhelming success.
2012 WORKSHOPS
At present, there are five workshops planned. The schedule has not yet been firmed up, but these are the workshops that will be presented...
April - "Creating Art in Layers" - presented by Marj Peterson
July - "Water Color Loosen Up" - presented by Ginny Campbell
August - Neighbors & Friends Garden Group presents "Crafty Picnic Creations" -
Bonnie Zak, Hostess
September - "Creating with Mixed Mediums" - Karen Deeds
November - "Glass Art Collage" - Bonnie Zak
In January, the member artists were to submit an example of their most recent work - and oh what a response we had! There were a total of 24 entries for the competition - and the quality was outstanding! It made the voting difficult for everyone because there were so many wonderful artworks to choose from. That, of course, made the honor of winning even greater for the honorees below...

While our artist members particpate in many different art shows in and around Southwest Missouri, in other parts of Missouri, and even in other states, the Table Rock Art Guild itself actively supports two art shows right here in Kimberling City. The first is the Chilren's Art Show, held in the Spring each year, and the other is the Fall Art Festival, traditionally held in early October.
THE 25TH ANNUAL CHILDREN'S ART SHOW WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND THE GUILD EXTENDS ITS SINCERE APPRECIATION TO THE CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR OF THE EVENT - MRS. LINDA FURSE AND MRS. DONNA GILLISPIE - AS WELL AS TO ALL OF THE VOLUNTEERS WHO WORKED TIRELESSLY TO MAKE THIS EVENT ONE THAT THE CHILDREN WOULD ALL REMEMBER!

THE FALL ART SHOW - 2011
Our Annual Fall Art Festival - which was held from September 30th through October 2nd this year, was a great success. The individual displays at the show ranged from very small to quite large - and the mediums exhibited included paintings done in watercolor, oil, and acrylics, as well as stunning glass works, woodcarvings and unique pieces created from gourds.

Classes are offered in oil and acrylic painting techniques using the "direct approach". Come and be a part of a group of artists who are honing their painting skills and setting Tuesday aside just for their art. All levels are being taught. Classes are on Tuesdays from 10am until 2pm at the First Christian Church in Kimberling City. Call Marjorie for further information at 417.739.4128 or 417.230.2180
Explore a variety of media and styles of art with artist and instructor, Karen Deeds. A high school art teacher for many years in Tulsa, Karen has taught art at all levels, both in public schools and privately. Currently, she teaches adult classes from her home studio in Reeds Spring, MO, as well as workshops for various groups, including Table Rock Art Guild.
As a teacher, Karen inspires her students to grow in their art and to reach for their personal best, while having fun in the process. Whether you are looking for professional development, or a fun leisure activity, this class will welcome you with their comaraderie. Call Karen for more details - 417.272.3757.
Janice (Jan) Rosenburg has "created" forever in oils, acrylics, watercolor and many other mediums. Even as a teacher, Jan continues to hone her skills by taking classes and workshops as they occur. Jan's 17-year career as a USPS mail carrier has given her the opportunity to live in the Ozarks with her husband, Glen. Jan teaches all aspects of art at the Kimberling Area Senior Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Call Jan to learn more...417.338.8705

ART WALKS TO
BEGIN IN HOLLISTER
Art walks will be taking place on the 2nd Saturday of each month, beginning on March 12th - and continuing through December. And on March 12th, the BrushStrokes Working Artists' Gallery will be featuring the work of Roberta Copeland.
And there will be an opportunity for our guild members to display their work as well. Contact Pat Lambert at 417.334-6555 for more details
DISPLAY YOUR ART IN MASCHINO'S (IN SPRINGFIELD)
Late last year, several of our members had the opportunity to hang their art in Maschino's. (Maschino's sells upscale patio furniture and fireplaces.) The show was such a success that we've been invited back to display again. Large pieces are preferred - with a Spring or Summer theme. The art will be hung on April 29th and remain in the store until the end of June. Contact Marj Peterson to learn how you can participate: 417.230.2180
